Vice President Joe Biden will deliver the keynote address at Iowa Democratic Sen. Tom Harkin’s steak fry dinner next month in Iowa.

The dinner, one of the biggest Democratic Party events in the state that hosts the first electoral contest of the presidential primary season, has been a showcase for Democrats considering a presidential run.

In 2007, speakers included Biden, Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, Chris Dodd, John Edwards and Bill Richardson, all of whom ran for president in 2008.

While likely candidate Hillary Clinton has yet to visit any of the early primary states, Biden’s move follows numerous Republicans’ trips to the Hawkeye state, such as Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul, Lousiana Gov. Bobby Jindal, and this past weekend’s appearances by former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum and Texas Sen. Ted Cruz.
