Footage posted Monday night on LiveLeak.com shows a mortar shell detonated practically on top of a Syrian family in the city of Aleppo, with what appears to be two adults walking out of a building leading three small children by the hand only a second before the shell detonates.

The shell was allegedly fired from an FSA (Free Syrian Army) mortar. The condition of the survivors is unknown. All three of the children are seen on the ground after the detonation, as well as one of the adults.

Several other bystanders appear to be hit by shrapnel from the blast. One attempts to run away before collapsing beside a taxi.

Some footage also shows FSA mortars being manned by grinning young children.
