George Zimmerman was detained Monday after an altercation at the Florida home of David and Machelle Dean, whose last name is also the maiden name of Zimmerman’s estranged wife, Shellie.

Zimmerman was detained after he allegedly threatened his wife and her father with a gun, according to Lake Mary, Fla. police.

Shellie Zimmerman is filing for divorce from the infamous neighborhood watchman, and recently gave a guarded local television interview.

Zimmerman, who has twice been pulled over for speeding since his acquittal in the 2012 shooting death of 17-year old Trayvon Martin, also recently garnered some favorable press for saving a family in an overturned SUV.

Zimmerman was accused by mainstream media commentators of profiling Martin due to his race prior to an altercation in which Martin slammed Zimmerman’s head on the pavement and reached for Zimmerman’s gun, according to Zimmerman’s defense attorneys in his second-degree murder trial.

The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People began pushing for a Department of Justice civil rights case against Zimmerman immediately after the watchman’s July acquittal.
