Obama cares about mass shootings somewhat less than being able to attack Republicans

There’s a time and a place to bash the GOP. The place is wherever Obama happens to be, and the time is whenever he feels like it.

Neil Munro reports:

President Obama delivered only brief condolences for the victims of the shooting at the Navy Yard in Washington, D.C. Monday morning, before quickly pivoting to a scheduled attack on Republicans…

“I can’t remember a time when one faction of one party promises chaos if it can’t get 100 percent of what it wants. … that’s what happening right now,” he insisted…

“Are some of these folks so beholden to some extremists in their party that they’re willing to tank the entire economy … [and] to hurt people just to score political points?” he asked.

If that seems stunningly tone-deaf, maybe you’re the one who’s stunningly tone-deaf. Ever think about that? Huh? Maybe you are.

Take it away, White House Press Secretary Jay Carney:

Translation into standard English: “Obama lost big on gun control the last time he tried to use the actions of an insane murderer politically. He was humiliated and enraged by the betrayal of his subjects. And we haven’t figured out yet how to cynically exploit this shooting. So, he just made a rote statement of concern and then got back to his usual crap: lies, blame-dodging, etc. Suck on that, Fox News.”

You’re welcome, America.

Update: Wow, even the MSNBC version of a conservative didn’t like it.
