Over 40 percent of Vice President Joe Biden’s personal Twitter account followers are fake.

According to the Twitter analytics application Status People, 41 percent of Biden’s 502, 250 followers — or approximately 205,922 followers — are fake.

Thirty-seven percent of the account’s followers are inactive, while only 22 percent of the account’s followers are considered “good,” or real.

The @JoeBiden account, which states that it is run by the Obama 2012 campaign staff, has sat idle since Jan. 24 when the account retweeted a Tweet from the official Office of Vice President Biden account, @VP.

@VP, while an active account, only boasts 218,461 followers. Of that number, 30 percent are fake, 40 percent are inactive, and 30 percent are real.

On Friday, The Daily Caller reported that 55 percent of President Obama’s Twitter followers were fake. That number is down from Aug. 2012 in the lead up to the November presidential election when The Blaze reported that 70 percent of Obama’s followers were fake.
