Some poor soul bought Kim Kardashian’s used — and probably unlucky — engagement ring for $620,000, Us Weekly reports.
Kim bought the preposterously large 16.21 carat Lorraine Schwartz diamond FOR HERSELF so that Kris Humphries would use it to propose to her (on television, natch) back in May 2011.
Kim reportedly gave the ring back to Kris one year ago, but he waited until the divorce was finalized to sell it. With Christie’s markup, the buyer will pay $749,000, which originally cost $2 million.
The two married in August 2011 and Kim filed for divorce just 72 days later, but the wedding was totally not a media sham at all. Their divorce wasn’t finalized until May of this year, one month before Kim gave birth to her and Kanye West’s daughter.
A portion of the ring’s sale will (allegedly) go to an undetermined charity.
