Everybody, from sportswriters to Indian casino honchos to the president of the United States, seems to be opining about the name of the Washington Redskins. The latest to throw their habits in the ring appear to be holy sisters.
A trio of women dressed in burgundy and gold wimples went to the Redskins’ game against the San Diego Chargers at FedEx field on Sunday with a message. The women carried signs reading, “#11- Thou shalt keep thy name ‘Redskins,'” “Redskins nun better,” and “We are the faithful go skins!”
The Washington Post’s DC Sports Bog commented on the get up, “So weird. Everything is so weird.” The ‘Skins ended up beating the Chargers in a dramatic overtime, so clearly God was on their side. Hail to the Redskins.
