Kansas State is trying out a new tactic to get more students to come to their women’s basketball games: bacon. The school tweeted out that they were going to be giving out free bacon for students starting at 4:45pm before Friday’s season opener game.

The school initially told ESPN’s Darren Rovell that they ordered 75 pounds of the delicious treat, but an hour later said they had upped it to 300 pounds, due to social media popularity. They say that each student is going to get a “boat of bacon.”

Everyone knows that bacon comes from the happy tears of God, and should be consumed whenever possible, but would a boat of bacon get you to sit through the full game against Tennessee State? Kansas State women’s basketball ended the 2012-2013 season 15-17.
