World Series MVP David Ortiz, better known as Big Papi, has signed on with MTV as a producer for a new show that will deal with Major League Baseball and pop culture. The two organizations announced their plans for a 30-episode series on Monday.

The show will be filmed at the MLB Fan Cave, housed in an old Tower Records store in New York City, reports Business Insider. MTV President Stephen Friedman said, “We’re always looking for ways to connect our audience with the stars they revere and want a closer connection to.”

Big Papi is excited about the venture and believes many of his fellow sluggers will be interested in getting in on the action. He said, “Players want to be musicians and musicians want to be players, so it’s going to be pretty easy to get my friends in baseball to have fun on MTV.”

The show will likely be broadcast on MTV2, the more bro-oriented sibling channel of MTV. It’s scheduled to begin next spring, in conjunction with the beginning of the 2014 baseball season.
