Just kidding, everyone! Go back to your business because Andy Kaufman is — probably — still dead. (RELATED: Andy Kaufman is either alive or not alive)

Andy’s brother Michael Kaufman was apparently the victim of a hoax Monday night at the Andy Kaufman Awards when he talked about the possibility that his brother is still living after receiving a letter from “Andy” in 1999. He then introduced a woman that was apparently his niece. It was reported earlier that Michael hired a young woman to act as if she were the late comedian’s daughter.

But Michael told CNN’s Jake Tapper on “The Lead” Thursday that the did not actually hire the woman and that she contacted him claiming to be Andy’s 23-year-old daughter.

Michael now believes that he is part of a hoax, but that he is skeptical about the death (or life) of his brother, who died/”died” in 1984.

“I believe I am part of the hoax. Whether she — you know, I — I don’t — I don’t believe that she’s acting on her own, though. But, you know, that’s — that’s all I know,” Michael told Tapper.

Tapper asked if Michael thinks his brother is still alive and he says that he is still “processing” what happened on Monday.

“I’m still processing it. I — you know, as Andy’s brother, you learn, over the years, you know, to — to go with the flow, kind of. And so I have mixed emotions now. You know, I never allowed myself to get too excited, so I was always slightly skeptical.”
