1. Politico Mag goes live, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell takes a hit. The physical description alone is devastating: “Gray, watery eyes bulging out from behind his glasses; thin, bloodless lips pursed into a frown.” Read the full story by Jason Zengerle here. Glenn Thrush‘s “Locked in the Cabinet” is also worth a read. A great line from Jim Messina, deputy Chief of Staff, to Josh Earnest, then a “young aide” regarding Energy Sec. Steven Chu: “What were you thinking?” he yelled. “And how, exactly, was this fucking on message?” Yes, Politico uses profanity in their new magazine.
