Mother Jones Co-editor Clara Jeffery lost her shit spoke her mind over the weekend by lashing at former ABC “Good Morning America” host Charlie Gibson over a child molester being defended by Washington elites. The clincher: the acts occurred while the teacher, Christopher Klomen, worked at Jeffery’s alma mater, the private Potomac School in MacLean, Va.
The “elites” include Baylor U. Prez and former Bill Clinton prosecutor Ken Starr, Gibson, who is retired, a former aide to Laura Bush and an ex-GOP congressman. After The Washington Post reported on the Klomen pleading guilty to the charges, Gawker ran some of the letters attempting to convince the court of leniency. In his letter, Gibson wrote, “Any punishment for Chris now, however, strikes me as retributive not rehabilitative, but at the same time I realize there is a need for accountability.” This is what ultimately got to Jeffery.
