This is just disturbing. Determined Toronto Mayor Rob Ford is done drinking. Please, this can’t be true. The BBC is reporting that Ford told the Canadian Broadcasting Network that he hadn’t imbibed in three weeks. Of course this was after he admitted smoking crack while drunk and after he faced a slew of claims that include ordinary daily activities such as cavorting with a prostitute and making lewd oral sex overtures toward a female staffer. Obamacare disaster requires comparisons, not words. In an entertaining piece, Politico‘s Roger Simon lays out all the ridiculous comparisons being made to a faulty website. In a word, he provides perspective and makes fun of NBC “MTP” host David Gregory. Those are two good reasons to read the story.

“Really, Dick. Zip it.” Democratic political strategist Peter Fenn has a blunt post on The Hill‘s Pundit’s Blog today about the whole Cheney affair. In a first person account, he admits in the first line that he has disliked Dick Cheney since 1975. By graph five, he talks about how Cheney is abominably siding with his one daughter’s political aspirations in Wyoming. He writes the aforementioned line, “Really, Dick. Zip it.” Read the whole thing here.

Politico poops on MSNBC (a little). In an amusing piece today by Politico‘s media writer Dylan Byers, he attacks the network that has a deal with Politico by making fun of their “Lean Forward” motto by describing just how backwards they’ve been lately. Favorite line: “In chronological order, that’s generally unconstructive profanity, a fat joke, a homophobic threat, and something straddling the line between torture endorsement and a poop joke.” Read here.
