Rep. Patrick Murphy (D-Fla.) attended a swanky ribbon cutting last night at The Bond, Aria Development’s newest luxury apartment complex in Washington’s West End neighborhood. The soirée was to celebrate The Bond’s $10 million renovation project. The congressman is friends with a friend of the owners, so he and his dimples swung by.
Several women in attendance were whispering about the congressman’s hotness, “swooning” is the way it was described to The Mirror. And pssst… he’s allegedly single. A partygoer described him as “sweet” and “adorable.” And get this, he may not be like garden variety lawmakers who show up to parties with their respective entourages. Murphy showed up solo and didn’t drink a single glass of alcohol – probably not the week for a lawmaker to get smashed in public. His only connection to Rep. Trey Radel (R-Fla.) is that they teamed up on harmless lagoon issues. He was not seen chatting up any women, but as our partygoer put it, he doesn’t just glaze over you like other politicians, but really looks into your eyes.
The party had a live jazz trio and Moet champagne. A speech was made to announce that Aria Development would contribute $5000 to Martha’s Table, a local organization that aides the homeless. Aria acquired the building in 2012 from the International Monetary Fund, which had used the building for corporate housing.
