What better way to stick it to an enemy than link him to child porn? Why not just shut down a few bridge lanes or something?

In a story Monday night, RedState Editor and FNC Contributor Erick Erickson went to town on the dustup between NRSC Spokesman Brad Dayspring and conservative radio host Mark Levin. The gist: Dayspring charges that there’s a dirty relationship going on between Levin and and the Senate Conservatives Fund to boost sales of his book, Liberty and Tyranny.

Image-11Erickson casually asks in his headline, “Does the National Republican Senatorial Committee Turn a Blind Eye to Kiddie Porn?”

The insinuation concerns Dayspring’s former groomsman, Ryan Loskarn, the ex-Chief of Staff to Sen. Lamar Alexander (R-Tenn.), who’s now facing serious charges for child pornography possession and distribution. When news of his wedding plans first surfaced, Dayspring treated his connection to Loskarn like a bad case of Shingles.

Erickson writes, “We can all agree that it should be a ridiculous question. But given the National Republican Senatorial Committee’s smear attacking radio host Mark Levin today, it is one that should be asked, if only to highlight the absurdity of the NRSC’s attack on Mark Levin.”

Later, Erickson pulls off the gloves some more and mentions Dayspring and other NRSCers appearing in pictures with Loskarn around a fire pit. He concludes, “Yes, it is absolutely ridiculous to connect the NRSC and its staffers to Ryan Loskarn’s child pornography arrest. … It is just as ridiculous to accuse Mark Levin and the Senate Conservatives Fund of a quid pro quo relationship when they happen to be allies in a fight and also happen to be friends.”
