Since it was announced last year, very little had been revealed about Apple’s automobile infotainment system until Tuesday, when screenshots of the system surfaced on Twitter.

Dublin, Ireland-based developer Steven Troughton-Smith tweeted the images of what appears to be the in-car version of Apple maps. The new system is based on the popular iPhone interface and is reportedly designed to sync your iPhone or iOS device to a dashboard-installed touchscreen, allowing users to get directions, play music, text and make phone calls via the screen or Siri voice command.

Auto manufacturers that have signed on to feature the system in upcoming models include Acura, Chevy, Honda, Kia, Mercedes, Nissan and Volvo.
