Ray Rice, the star running back for the Baltimore Ravens, was arrested Saturday night for domestic violence in Atlantic City, along with his fiancée Janay A. Palmer.

Sgt. Monica McMenamin of the Atlantic City Police Department told NBC Washington that police responded to a call at the Revel Casino around 2:51 am on Saturday morning.

One of Rice’s attorney, Andrew Alperstein, said the incident was a “very minor physical altercation.” Another attorney for Rice, Michael Diamondstein, said he’s sure that, “the matter turns out to be little more than a misunderstanding.”

The summons says that after reviewing surveillance footage, both Rice and Palmer hit each other with their hands. They both refused medical attention after being detained and were released to their own recognizance.

The Ravens say they know about the incident and have spoken with Rice.
