The U.S. trounced the Czech Republic 5-2 on Wednesday in the ice hockey quarterfinals and will face Canada in the semifinals Friday.

James van Riemsdyk, Dustin Brown, David Backes, Zach Parise and Phil Kessel all netted goals for the U.S. Canada beat Latvia 2-1, setting up a rematch of the gold-medal game in Vancouver, which the Canadians won.

Finland and Sweden will also be duking in the other semifinal game.

The U.S. last won gold in 1980 with the “Miracle on Ice.”

Canada will be a formidable opponent, but is doable. Tune in to NBC at noon on Friday to hopefully see America beat Canada.
