When the USA hockey team faces off against Canada Friday, there will be more than just national pride on the line.

Obama announced Thursday morning, via the White House Twitter, that he had bet Harper a case of beer on the women’s ice hockey game and another on men’s. The women played Thursday at noon, while the men play Friday at noon.

They made this same bet four year ago during the Vancouver 2010 Olympics. After Canada won, American ambassador David Jacobsen brought a case of 24 Molson to Harper, reports sportsnet. He also threw in a 24 of Yuengling so the Canadians could enjoy one of America’s finest exports.

The game Friday will determine whether the US or Canada will go on to the gold medal game. Canada’s women’s hockey team beat the United States on Thursday.
