12 desperate Democratic fundraising emails in Alex Sink race

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) has been pulling out all the stops to elect Alex Sink in Tuesday’s Florida special election for the U.S. House. Apparently this includes blasting out desperate fundraising emails with defeatist subject lines.

Though the DCCC sometimes explains in its emails that they’re hoping to deal John Boehner and Republican David Jolly a “shocking defeat,” the email subject lines have been pretty manipulative. Here are 12 DCCC subject lines from the last week alone:

‘humiliating loss’ (March 11)

“The Florida special election is today. And right now, we don’t know if we’re going to win.”

‘shocking defeat’ (March 10)

“If you’ve been waiting to support our campaign to hand Boehner a shocking defeat in toss up races, it’s now or never.”

‘crushing defeat’ (March 10)

“Republican voters have turned in 3% more ballots than Democrats (42% – 39%). That’s no surprise — this is a reliably Republican district.”

‘massive loss’ (March 9)

“Republican dark money groups are running ugly attack ads at an unprecedented clip.”

‘agonizing defeat’ (March 9)

“We need $103,000 if we want to hand Boehner agonizing defeats in toss-up races like this.”

‘painful loss’ (March 8)

‘humiliating defeat’ (March 7)

“Wonder why Paul Ryan is pulling out all the stops? A GOP loss in this reliably Republican district would be a disaster for his plans to eviscerate Medicare.”

‘painful loss’ (March 7)

‘debilitating defeat’ (March 7)

‘devastating loss’ (March 5)

‘defeat’ (March 5)

“The race is TIED and Boehner’s allies just launched a massive SIX FIGURE ad campaign. That’s NOT the news we wanted to hear in the FINAL WEEK.”

‘crippling blow’ (March 4)
