Duke porn star’s army doctor dad learned about daughter’s career upon return from Afghanistan

The Duke University freshman who does porn had insisted that nobody report her adorably slutty porn name, which is Belle Knox. Then, of course, the 18-year-old porn princess wanted to keep her real name – Miriam Weeks – a secret. Well, that’s out of the bag too.

And now, the hardcore starlet is finally facing the reality that every porn thespian – no matter how gifted – must eventually face — her parents have learned all about her moonlighting career, reports the Daily Mail.

Family members dealing with the newfound information include her father, an army doctor who has just returned from Afghanistan, and her mother, a native of an India, where pornography is a tremendous taboo. There’s also her brother, who is a devout Catholic who spends his time doing Christian outreach work.

Dr. Kevin Weeks and his wife Harcharan – nicknamed ‘Hershie’ – are said to be devastated by the news of their daughter’s career choices. The porn star’s brother Paul, 22 and sister Anita, 20, aren’t too happy, either.

The college costs for all three children will be in the very high six figures—and should easily exceed $1 million if any loans are involved, thanks to the magic of compound interest.

As the Mail notes, a military doctor like Kevin Weeks can expect to earn about $200,000 annually plus deployment pay. Harcharan Weeks is currently not working.

The couple lives in Spokane, Wash. They own a four-bedroom house for which they paid $477,730. Their mortgage is $460,607.

The Weeks parents are earnest Catholics. Miriam Weeks attended a private Jesuit prep school where tuition runs about $11,000 per year.

In high school, she earned top grades. As a senior, before she explored her other talents, Weeks received the ‘Spokane Scholar’ award for excellence in a foreign language.

Weeks has done a slew of interviews about why she does porn for two, big reasons: One, it’s all very empowering to have sex on camera for cash and, two, it helps to defray the excessive tuition costs at Duke. Relatives told the Mail that the drama has caused quite a rift in the Weeks family.

“This is a tragedy in the family. The father is one of the best human beings I’ve ever met,” said Amanda Minor, Miriam’s brother Paul’s mother-in-law. “He’s so proud of his daughter; there’s no way they could have known this was going on. It’s terrible. But they would never abandon their daughter.”

The rift has widened since Miriam Weeks and her porn agent, John Steven, have given interviews suggesting that the Duke student resorted to porn because Miriam’s family stopped making her tuition payments.

On CNN last week, she said she had no choice other than porn because her financial aid package mandated that she or her family pay $47,000 per year, the Mail noted.

It’s not clear why Weeks couldn’t just take out more loans like everybody else.

Incidentally, Weeks told RealClearEducation that she passed up a full-tuition scholarship at Vanderbilt University because her heart was set on Duke.

Steven, the porn agent, insisted that Weeks’s parents stopped making promised payments to Duke.

“In the first semester, her parents worked out a payment plan with the university for tuition of $5,000 a month. But that lasted until the month of January, and then they cut her off,” the porn agent told the Mail. “So starting February 1, she owed the school $5,000 a month. Where is an 18-year-old girl supposed to get that?”

“She makes a lot of money from porn,” Steven added. “She could easily make $10 to $15,000 a month. That’s for multiple shoots. She gets $1,500-2,000 per shoot, then I get a cut, which is less than 20 percent and then it’s taxed. It’s a legitimate business I run.”

Steven added that his client plans to spend the summer in Los Angeles making pornography to pay for the fall semester.
