Matthew McConaughey first uttered his famous catchphrase “alright, alright, alright” during the first scene he ever filmed  in 1993’s “Dazed and Confused”:

He has gone on to say it countless times in interviews and speeches, but where exactly did it come from? UPROXX unearthed a video from 2011 where McConaughey explains to George Stroumboulopoulos how he came up with the catchphrase.

The origin involves Jim Morrison, being stoned, driving around in a sweet ride and hunting for chicks.
