Soccer is known for its flopping, but one Ukrainian player was not messing around after a particularly hard hit. Oleg Gusev of Dynamo Kiev took a knee to the head during a game against Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk, rendering him unconscious with an obstructed airway.
Dnipro’s midfielder Jaba Kankava immediately rushed over to the injured Gusev and began attempting to clear his windpipe, since it appears he swallowed his tongue. Luckily, after a few seconds of Kankava’s attention, Gusev regained consciousness.
Gusev seems to have made a full recovery, although the team hasn’t commented on his status, reports the Independent.
