The artist formerly known as President George W. Bush unveiled some brand new paintings of world leaders, including the “compassionate” Tony Blair, his “friend” Vladimir Putin and the “gentle soul” of his father.

Bush has moved away from his earlier Barney and Bob period (that the world was treated to after Anonymous hacked into his email) and onto a more complex period in his work. (RELATED SLIDESHOW: Top 10: Best artworks by prolific painter, former President George W. Bush)

Jenna Bush Hager interviewed her dad at the site of his new art exhibit at the Bush library in Dallas for a “Today Show” segment that aired Friday morning.

Bush showed off his new self-portrait as well as several other paintings of world leaders.
