The graduates of Saint Anselm College in Manchester, N.H. are likely to remain awake during their commencement address – no matter how hungover they are. They’re lucking out with 77-year-old CBS’ “Face the Nation” host Bob Schieffer as their speaker. The news was announced today by Steven DiSalvo, the college prez.
Schieffer will receive an honorary degree during the ceremony on May 17. Schieffer’s real alma mater is Texas Christian University.
“Each of these extraordinary leaders impact the world in meaningful, positive ways,” said DiSalvo. “They represent the values and ideals that are at the heart of Saint Anselm’s mission – to educate individuals who make and find opportunities to engage in the service of diverse local, national and global fields and communities.”
