N.M. Gov candidate campaigned with rancher accused of torturing kids

It’s a good practice to avoid putting much stock in anything a political party disseminates. But this from the New Mexico GOP caught my attention:

“On the same day Governor Susana Martinez rolled out with several measures to combat and prevent child abuse, state Senator Howie Morales announced an event hosted by Scott Chandler, a controversial youth ranch owner who faces allegations of child abuse and torture.”

They aren’t exaggerating.

The original allegations garnered national attention, but the campaign angle (now five days old) has, so far, garnered little (if any) national attention.

Presumably, at some point, Martinez’s campaign will correct this oversight. In the mean time, here is a compilation of some local news clips that, I think, are pretty disturbing…
