Minnesota Republican congresswoman Michele Bachmann sparred with Florida Democratic congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz over the new congressional committee to investigate Benghazi — with Wasserman Schultz claiming Republicans are “clearly doing this to drive their turnout” and Bachmann accusing Democrats of trying “to sabotage this process.”

The two congresswomen appeared on CNN’s “State of the Union” with Candy Crowley to discuss the ongoing investigation into the Obama administration’s response to the September 2012 Benghazi attacks.

Wasserman Schultz was entirely certain that there’s nothing left to investigate. “Republicans are clearly doing this to drive their turnout –”

“Candy, that is not true at all,” Bachmann interjected.

“Excuse me, Michele, I didn’t interrupt you,” Wasserman Schultz replied. “So I’d appreciate if you didn’t interrupt me.”

But the interruptions continued after the Democratic congresswoman claimed the select committee will not be credible and “has an outcome that’s been predetermined. They have to treat the minority fairly.”

“That’s absolutely not true,” Bachmann shot back. “That’s absolutely not true . . . Candy, it’s really clear that the Democrats have tried to sabotage this process from the very beginning.”

“We don’t have the ability to sabotage it!” Wasserman Schultz laughed.

“When we have unanswered questions about four people who died, we have to get to the bottom of this,” Bachmann continued. “This is reality –”

“You’re right,” Wasserman Schultz said, talking over Bachmann as the congresswoman continued.

“We have to get to the bottom of this and not criticize it,” Bachmann pressed on. “And unfortunately, that’s what’s been happening with the Democrats. They have been politicizing, and that’s wrong. That’s wrong to do about people who’ve died.”

“It’s the Republicans who have been criticizing Benghazi, from beginning to end,” Wasserman Schultz shot back.
