The death is not believed to be suspicious, he added.
He was left seriously ill after a quad bike accident in 1998 which left him in a coma for several days, but was working until recently.
His style wasn’t for everyone, but he always made me laugh. The Young Ones was one of the most disgustingly funny shows ever.
The characters were broadly drawn, but the more familiar you became with them, the funnier scenes like this were:
Yeah, it’s a poop joke, but it’s a poop joke about an annoying narcissist with pathetic delusions of grandeur. Somehow Mayall made you like him even when he was being, as noted, a complete bastard.
