The person who is considered America’s highest paid woman CEO was born a man.

In a New York Times op-ed regarding the lack of women CEOs, Claire Cain Miller laid down the interesting fact.

Martine Rothblatt, the founder of Sirius Satellite Radio, now SiriusXM, and United Therapeutics, was number 10 on the list of highest paid CEOs last year.

Rothblatt was also born a man.

Martine, then Martin, had a sex change operation in 1994 while founding Sirius.

Rothblatt made $38 million in 2013.
