At Least 8 People Injured In Miami Shooting, 2 Dead

Ten people were shot in a mass shooting in Liberty City, Miami. early Tuesday morning.

Miami Police received a call about a shooting at around 2:15 a.m., WSVN reports.

“We have multiple people shot; 2 deceased at this time,” said Miami Police spokesperson Frederica Burden. “We’re early on into this investigation as to a motive, as to why this incident occurred and we’re asking anyone that witnessed anything, that heard anything, between those hours of this morning, to please contact our Miami homicide units or Crime Stoppers.”

Of the two dead, one died at the scene and the other at the hospital. At least eight more were shot. Some of the injured were transported to the Jackson Memorial Hospital, and their conditions range from serious to extremely critical.

A 17-year-old girl was among those shot.

Her sister said that “she was shot about four or five times and we’re just waiting for her to get out of surgery, at the moment.”

According to the Miami Herald, two men showed up to a housing complex and began firing their weapons.

About 50 bullet casing were found on the scene.

The reason for the shooting is still unknown.
