Talk show host Elisabeth Hasselbeck called in to “Fox and Friends” Wednesday morning and relayed her thoughts about the rumors that Rosie O’Donnell will return to ABC’s talk show “The View.”

Hasselbeck, a Republican, co-hosted “The View” alongside O’Donnell in 2007, and the two constantly butted heads.

She dialed Fox News from her “staycation” and revealed that time has not healed her tense relationship with her former co-host.

“What could ruin a vacation more than to hear news like this?” she asked.

“Talk about not securing the border! Here in comes to ‘The View’ the very woman who spit in the face of our military, spit in the face of her own network, and really in the face of a person who stood by her and had civilized debates for the time that she was there, coming back with a bunch of control, ready to regain a seat at the View table,” Hasselbeck fumed.

Producers of “The View” recently fired the entire host panel, except for Whoopi Goldberg.

Earlier this week, Sarah Palin gave a not-so-subtle plug for “The View” to hire her. Whether or not the she gets the gig remains to be seen. (RELATED: Could Sarah Palin Be Hired For ‘The View?’)

Hasselbeck expressed confidence that O’Donnell will be returning. She said she believes that the rumors of O’Donnell’s return are based in truth, and the talk show has been planning to re-hire the outspoken personality for some time.

Regarding the possible dynamic between Goldberg and O’Donnell, Hasselbeck stated, “I don’t think it would be wise for Rosie O’Donnell to challenge Whoopi Goldberg on anything. I really don’t.”
