As President Obama began his fundraising in Dallas Wednesday without plans to visit any U.S.-Mexico border facilities, Republican Sen. Ted Cruz offered him last-minute directions to prominent border towns, CBS Houston reports.

While Obama is set to engage in a roundtable discussion with Texas Gov. Rick Perry and a group of faith leaders, Cruz offered some suggestions on where Obama should stop along the way.

“If President Obama wants to have a real border meeting with @GovernorPerry, here are a couple suggested detours,” Cruz tweeted.

Obama has received criticism from Republicans and a few Democrats after White House spokesman Josh Earnest told reporters that the president had no intention of visiting the border while in Texas for a series of fundraisers.

“Schedules sometimes change and if they do we’ll let you know, but right now there is no plan to visit the border while he’s in Texas,” Earnest said.
