MSNBC’s Chris Hayes said Congress and President Obama’s actions are both crazy on his show “All In with Chris Hayes” Monday night.

Hayes played a clip of Obama speaking, in which Obama chastises Congress for not acting on the Highway Trust Fund.

“The Highway Trust Fund will run out. There won’t be any money there,” Obama said. “Nearly 700,000 jobs could be at risk next year.”

Obama then proceeded to compare that figure to firing the entire populations of large cities like Denver and Boston.

Hayes explained the solution Congress is proposing. “But don’t worry, Congress has come up with a solution,” Hayes said. “The plan involves, get ready for this, letting corporations under-fund their pension systems.”

“Yes I know, that sounds crazy.”

Hayes then turned on Obama, criticizing the administration for supporting the bill.

“And this afternoon, the White House endorsed the House bill as a temporary fix.”

He concluded simply, “This all seems pretty nuts.”
