An uncomfortable dress made of rubber bands sold on eBay for nearly $300,000 Tuesday.

Helen Smith, 42, or North Wales, put the “dress” on eBay for £50, or about $85, after her friend Kathryn Burnand spent three-and-a-half weeks weaving it out of loom bands, the Daily Mail reports. It sold for £170,000, or $291,337, after 137 people bid on the size 4 dress, which was modeled by Smith’s 12-year-old daughter.

“I would’ve been happy to make £50 profit, but this is ridiculous,” Burnand told the Mail. “It’s not actually very nice to wear, because it’s very heavy. All the plastic bands make it quite uncomfortable to wear too.”

Burnand spent just under the $85 to make the dress, using 40 bags of 600 bands. She and Smith plan to split the profit 50/50 and then go crazy. “Me and Kathryn have agreed that the first thing we are going to do is go away for 24 hours and treat ourselves,” Smith told The Daily Mail.

Burnand was inspired to make the dress when she saw Sian was into the loom bands, which have been spotted on the wrists of Miley Cyrus and Kate Middleton.
