WaPo Backpedals After Using Senate Spending Report To Attack Republicans

Less than one hour ago, the Washington Post published a story by Philip Bump about expensive Senate offices with stats from the Sunlight Foundation.

The original headline was clearly skewed against Republicans.

It reads: “Cruz, Rubio among the most expensive Senate offices.”

But actually, the top two most expensive offices belong to California Democrats Barbara Boxer and Dianne Feinstein with Boxer being in the lead.

And soon the headline changed.

Hmmm…I’m hardly one to cry bias, but that’s a vastly different headline from the original. But a big question is why not feature Boxer and Feinstein in the headline? Are they not important enough? Or are they just not R enough?

As you’ll notice in the url, they didn’t quite get a chance to switch that up: “http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/the-fix/wp/2014/08/05/cruz-rubio-among-the-most-expensive-senate-offices/?Post+generic=%3Ftid%3Dsm_twitter_washingtonpost”
