Ken Isaacs, an Ebola expert and the vice president of international relief organization Samaritan’s Purse, specifically singled out the Drudge Report for “driv[ing] a lot of panic” around the Ebola outbreak centered in west Africa and starting to crop up worldwide.

The former USAID official told a House Foreign Affairs subcommittee that ebola was “out of control” and that “we are starting to see panic now around the world. People want to know.”

“I don’t know about you folks,” he said, gesturing to the lawmakers. “I look at the Drudge Report, it can drive a lot of panic.”

The popular news website run by Matt Drudge has featured a number of Ebola articles in recent days warning of the disease’s spread — a concern Isaac seems to share.

“There’s a guy in New York, there’s a woman in England, six people have been tested in the United States,” he said, appearing worried that the illness has already spread beyond west Africa.
