Wisconsin Rep. Paul Ryan, the 2012 Republican vice presidential nominee, plans to go on a cross-country book tour this month to promote his new book detailing his vision for the future of the Republican Party.

Like many books from top political figures, this one will spark fresh speculation that Ryan could be testing the waters for a possible run for president in 2016.

The book, THE WAY FORWARD, goes on sale Aug. 19.

According to its description, THE WAY FORWARD “challenges conventional thinking, outlines his political vision for 2014 and beyond, and shows how essential conservatism is for the future of our nation. Beginning with a careful analysis of the 2012 election — including a look at the challenge the GOP had in reaching a majority of voters and the prevalence of identity politics — Ryan examines the state of the Republican party and dissects its challenges going forward.”

Ryan’s book tour begins Aug. 20 in Philadelphia, and takes him through Wisconsin, Illinois, Florida, Oklahoma, Texas and Colorado. It ends at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library on Aug. 28.
