Star Wars fans can finally live out their lightsaber-wielding fantasies thanks to a new mod for the Oculus Rift virtual reality headset and motion-capture technology.
The demo posted on YouTube features a new wireless motion control system from gaming peripheral company Sixense called the Sixense STEM, which can track five sensors attached to a users’ limbs simultaneously, according to The Verge.
In the video below, two of the sensors are built into hand-held controllers, which act as lightsaber hilts in the Oculus demo, capturing the users’ swings accurately and responsively as he defects laser blasts.

The STEM system is available for preorder now at $299 for two sensors and $579 for five. Sixense expects to begin shipping in October.
