A lot of people thought Betty White died Wednesday, after satirical news site Empire News printed a story with the headline, “Actress Betty White, 92, Dyes Peacefully In Her Los Angeles Home.”
The breaking story confirmed that the 92-year-old “The Golden Girls” star is not a natural blonde and does indeed dye her hair.
“She has been dying her own hair in her home for decades. Betty has often told me she feels it is relaxing and soothing to dye her own hair, peacefully in her home, where she can laugh and enjoy time with her animals.”
However, some fans took the homophone hoax seriously, causing them to fret and further proving that the world needs a lesson in reading comprehension.
