He’s baaack! And a quick comeback it is.

Benny Johnson, the now infamous viral politics editor who was fired from BuzzFeed in late July after the publication discovered 41 instances of plagiarism, has been hired at National Review. The news was first broken by Politico‘s Mike Allen Saturday morning.

National Review‘s editor-in-chief Rich Lowry says Johnson has learned his lesson.

“Benny made a terrible mistake,” he told Politico. “But he has owned up to it and learned from it. He’s a talented journalist, with obviously a lot to contribute. He knows he’s joining a storied institution at NR, and we look forward to his helping us carry on our mission across all platforms.”

Allen surprisingly gave Johnson his own ringing, personal endorsement, writing, “Benny is quite savvy about the digital ecosystem, and has a real shot at notably moving the needle for NR.”
