World domination has only just begun.

And hey, working in Politico‘s Brussels bureau doesn’t sound half bad.

HuffPost‘s Michael Calderone reported the news of Politico Europe Monday. He wrote that Politico had approached Financial Time‘s Peter Spiegel to run their operations, but it’s a no go. Today Politico‘s communications department makes the news official with a release containing more info.

“Axel Springer SE, one of the leading European digital publishers, and POLITICO, the dominant Washington, D.C., political news publication, are hooking up to launch a European edition of POLITICO, a new digital political media offering that will offer in-depth coverage of European politics and policy. Both Axel Springer and POLITICO have signed an agreement for a 50/50 joint venture. The new media company will be headquartered in Brussels.”

Axel Springer SE’s HQ is in Berlin.

They promise more details in the coming weeks.  In the meantime, please, POLITICO, don’t add on any European duties to Chief White House correspondent Mike Allen already robust schedule or the man really will never, ever sleep.
