Former Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney said Wednesday that President Obama’s foreign policy has put America “in a place of danger unlike anything we knew prior to 9/11.”

Romney discussed foreign policy with Greta Van Susteren hours prior to Obama’s primetime speech regarding America’s response to the growing threat of ISIS in Syria.

“The president’s policies have put us in a place of danger unlike anything we knew prior to 9/11. This is the result of a foreign policy gone severely awry,” Romney said.

“It’s almost hard to imagine how the president’s foreign policy could have been worse as it relates to keeping America safe from jihadists having territory and funds from which they can attack America.”

Romney has been outspoken about the 44th President’s dealings with foreign actors, especially Vladimir Putin, ISIS and Bashar al-Assad in Syria.

Romney has said repeatedly that he will not run again in 2016 despite calls from Republicans and encouraging poll numbers, even though he did admit recently that “circumstances can change.”
