Every year, college students across the nation, as a part of Young America’s Foundation, honor the anniversary of 9/11 by proudly displaying almost 3,000 flags on their campuses.

It’s the 13th anniversary, and though a new building stands where the two towers used to, and an entire museum is dedicated to the deadliest terrorist attack in American history, these students honor the day with a simple symbol of American resilience and spirit: the flag.

Over 240 schools contributed this year. See their photos here.
