A Memphis man has been accused of second-degree murder after trying to throw a head away. The head fell out of a black plastic bag while he was loading scrap metal into a friend’s truck. The friend had come to his house to pick up the metal for his own use.

The witness, Lacedric Ruffin, who witnessed the bag containing the head rip, spoke to WREG News Channel 3, the ABC affiliate in Memphis on his reaction. According to Ruffin, he confronted the accused Michael Wilson Jr. “I’m like, man, what the hell you got going on, bro?” When Wilson remarked that it was accidental. “ I said, kill who, brother? I don’t want to know who that is, I don’t want to know. You don’t got to tell me,” Ruffin said.

Wilson, the New York Daily News reports, pleaded with Ruffin to keep it secret and not tell the authorities. Ruffin promptly called the cops, wanting to have nothing to do with it because he is on parole himself. In the same report, when police arrived on the scene, they immediately spotted the severed head sitting in the backyard. The police then entered Wilson’s residence, finding severed hands, a decomposing leg in a bedroom, and a corpse as well.

The victim was identified as 48-year-old Andre Cole. Wilson, who is schizophrenic, according to neighbors. Wilson will be charged with Cole’s murder in the second-degree, along with abuse of a corpse. His bail is currently set at $2 million, and he is set to appear in court on Sept. 22.
