Bill Mulvihill joins The Atlantic next month as Associate Publisher. He’ll oversee the global sales team and help lead advertising efforts. He comes to the publication from Vanity Fair, where he was National Advertising Director.

The news came today from Atlantic Publisher and Veep Hayley Romer.

Before Vanity Fair, Mulvihill worked for Entertainment Weekly, The Week, Cookie and The Chicago Tribune.

As usual, everyone’s thrilled.

“Bill is a venerable talent in the business, with a great wealth of experience and strong connections with stellar brands,” said Romer in a statement. “We are thrilled to welcome him to The Atlantic.”

Mulvihill called it a “dream career move.”

He said, “The Atlantic is a brand I’ve long admired, and joining the team feels like a dream career move. It has evolved into a multi-platform category leader that isn’t afraid to challenge the status quo and is leading the way in ‘best in class’ content and brand marketing programs.”
