Tesla Motors CEO Elon Musk told followers on Twitter Wednesday it was “time to unveil the D and something else” with a photo listing the date Oct. 9, but a picture of Musk’s “D” may have already leaked online.

On Thursday afternoon a user on the Tesla Motors Club forum uploaded a picture of a black Tesla Model S with the model designation “P85D” on the rear (P85 is the model designation for the base Model S).

The post by user adelman includes the caption, “Seen in the wild by a friend…” and the users’ profile location is listed as Santa Cruz, California — roughly 50 miles from Tesla’s headquarters in Palo Alto, and just over 50 miles from the company’s factory in Fremont. (RELATED: Tesla Motors’ Elon Musk Wants To Show Everyone His ‘D’ On Twitter, Internet Goes Nuts)

The photo hasn’t been verified, but the photo data indicates it was snapped with an iPhone 5S and the photographer’s reflection can be seen in the chrome strip on the trunk lid, which, as The Verge points out, is a tough and time-consuming photoshop job to pull off.

Tesla fans will have to wait until Oct. 9 to get the full DL on the “D.”
