Teresa Giudice, star of Bravo’s “Real Housewives of New Jersey,” and her husband both received jail sentences Thursday after pleading guilty to 41 counts of bankruptcy fraud, conspiracy to commit mail fraud, wire fraud and failing to pay taxes in March, and she said her 15-month sentence shocked her.

Teresa and Joe gave an interview Friday, the day after they received their sentences, with Andy Cohen on “Watch What Happens Live,” which airs Monday night. Teresa said she was “nervous” and “shaking” in court. (RELATED: Teresa Giudice Gets 15 Months)

“My nerves were shot. I’ve had sleepless nights. I was shocked. It was very unexpected. I don’t know what to say.”

Cohen asked the 42-year-old if she was in denial about the multi-million dollar fraud charges, and the reality star said she “needs to read things before she signs them,” but called herself a trustworthy person.

“I’ve got to make sure I fully understand something or read it or find a lawyer, like a contract lawyer, that can help me.”

The couple, who have four daughters between ages five and 13, will serve staggered sentences, and Teresa will go first.

Her husband got 41 months and faces possible deportation after his sentence is served. He claims he did not know he wasn’t a citizen because he was brought to the United States from Italy as an infant.

Teresa starts her sentence Jan. 5. (RELATED: Joe Giudice Gets 41 Months In Prison)
