North Korea’s citizens spontaneously celebrated the the 17th anniversary of Kim Jong Il’s election as general secretary of the Worker’s Party of Korea with choreographed dance parties on Wednesday, the state-sponsored Korean Central News Agency reports.

The parties were held from one end of the country to the other. From the Monument to Party Founding to the Pyongyang Indoor Stadium, a churning ocean of people danced to the familiar, compulsory strains of “Please Accept Best Wishes of People.”

Happy, vigorous dancing was the order of the day as celebrants enjoyed hit tunes “Our General Is The Best” and “Glory To Our Great Party.” The music was generally patriotic in orientation.

The nation’s young people couldn’t have been more ecstatic than when they danced to “Sea of Apples at Foot of Chol Pass” and teen-anthem “Train to the Front.”

Everything seems to be going fine in North Korea.
