Sorry National Review, but Connecticut Gov. Dannel Malloy probably won’t be subscribing any time soon.

The Democratic governor took aim at the publication Thursday night after GOP challenger Tom Foley attacked him in a debate, referring to their Wednesday piece “America’s Worst Governor.”

“Sir, you’ve been on the job for three and a half years. When are you going to take some responsibility for the fact that your policies have not worked?” Foley asked. “You were recently rated the worst governor in the United States of America. It’s about time you took responsibility and maybe admit to some of the things you did weren’t the right things and haven’t worked out.”

“The publication you’re talking about is a right-wing, tea bag organization,” Malloy replied.

Recent polls show the incumbent Malloy in trouble, with Quinnipiac and CBS/New York Times polls showing the two in a dead heat, while the Real Clear Politics average has Malloy with a slight lead with less than four weeks to go until the midterm elections.
