Yep. She did it again.
For the fifth time in a span of 24 hours, Alison Lundergan Grimes dodged whether she voted for President Barack Obama.
The four initial rebuffs came during her meeting with the Louisville Courier-Journal’s editorial board meeting. The latest dodge came as she entered a campaign event and was confronted by a tracker from America Rising, a conservative opposition-based Super PAC. “Madame Secretary, did you vote for President Obama?” asked the tracker.
“Oh, that’s new,” a Grimes staffer replied.
The most recent questioning took place Thursday night.
Earlier Friday on “Morning Joe,” co-host Joe Scarborough and “Meet The Press” moderator Chuck Todd went to town on Grimes’ inability to answer such a simple question, with Todd going so far to say she “disqualified herself” with the misstep. “The sanctity of the ballot box? Oh my God! That’s awful!” he said. How could Alison Lundergan Grimes make a … what a rookie mistake! Just admit it!”
“Don’t treat us like we’re stupid!” Scarborough continued.
“Even to say that you regret your vote, that would seem as disingenuous. That is … and Kentuckians expect her to cast a tough vote on anything?” said Todd, at a loss for words.
“Is she ever going to answer a tough question on anything? You want to be a U.S. senator?” asked the “Meet The Press” moderator. You can disagree with him, but you can’t answer that basic question and come across looking that ridiculous?”
“I think she disqualified herself. I really do. I think she disqualified herself,” Todd concluded.
